Rascals Members Felix Cavaliere and Gene Cornish to Tour

by VVN Music

Two artists whose history goes back to being members of Joey Dee & the Starlighters, Felix Cavaliere and Gene Cornish, will be touring together this summer.

Of course, the two are better known as being members of the Rascals, who had nine top twenty hits between 1966 and 1968 including the number 1's "Good Lovin'", "Groovin'" and "People Got to Be Free".

The tour will take them from July through November and will include drummer Carmine Appice who is taking the place of original Rascals drummer Dino Danelli who wasn't interested in touring.  Cavaliere said "Gene and I both thought there’s no way we can replace our brother Eddie [Brigati], and Dino [Danelli, drummer] expressed that he didn’t want to do it. We both thought of Carmine at the same time."

Appice said "I’m in. I grew up watching the Rascals on Ed Sullivan, I’m a huge fan. These songs are the soundtrack to so many peoples’ lives. I’m looking forward to sharing the music with life-long Rascals fans, and to new generations of fans."

Cornish added "There’s something magical that happens when we’re on stage together. We’re going to celebrate these songs for as long as the fans allow us to and give the fans a chance to see us perform live."
