1983 - Drummer Jim Gordon (Derek & the Dominoes, Delaney & Bonnie) killed his mother with a hammer. He was diagnosed as a schizophrenic at his trial the next year and was sentenced to 16 years-to-life in prison.

1990 - Michael Jackson was admitted to the hospital suffering from chest pains. He was diagnosed with bruised ribs from dancing practice.
