Randy Safuto of Randy & the Rainbows Suffers Heart Attack

Randy Safuto, the lead singer of Randy and the Rainbows, has suffered a heart attack.

His wife, Kathy, passed the news along on Facebook, saying "To all FB friends, Hi I am Kathy, Randy’s wife!! To let you know my husband is in the Hospital recovering from cardiac arrest!! Each day he is getting a little better. Thank You"

Michael McDowell of Blitz Magazine also wrote "Prayers in progress for beloved rock and roll pioneer Domenic "Randy" Safuto, co-founder/lead vocalist of the still very much active RANDY AND THE RAINBOWS, who has been hospitalized after suffering cardiac arrest. "He is getting a little better", assured Safuto's wife, Kathy."

Randy and the Rainbows were formed in Maspeth, NY in 1962 by Dominick "Randy" Safuto and his brother Frank along with Mike and Sal Zero and Ken Arcipowski. They hit number 10 in the U.S. in 1963 with "Denise"
