The new David Bowie statue in Aylesbury, UK, has been vandalized just two days after it was unveiled.

The words “feed the homeless” and “RIP DB” were fronted around and in front of the statue within 48 hours of its dedication.

The David Bowie statue sits in Aylesbury Market Square which is immortalized in the opening lyrics to Bowie’s ‘Five Years’ from Bowie’s classic Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. Bowie first performed the Ziggy persona in Aylesbury at Friars in July 1972.

Marillion singer Steve Hogarth unveiled the David Bowie statue on March 25.

The statue was funded through grants and a £100,000 crowd funding campaign.
