Willie Nelson Has Now Cancelled All of His February Dates

by VVN Music

Saying that he is battling the flu, the management for Willie Nelson has cancelled all of his dates in February.

This follows a similar cancellation of his entire slate of shows in January after having to cut a show short in San Diego on January 6. In that incident, Nelson had barely started his opening song, "Whiskey River", before having a coughing spell and appearing to have trouble breathing.  At the time, his publicist said he was suffering from "a bad cold or the flu".

Lung infections have become a chronic situation with Willie who has had breathing problems for many years including emphysema and numerous pneumonia battles.  Since 2008, he has used a special carbon-free system for smoking marijuana and, in 2015, he underwent stem-cell therapy to try and improve his lungs.

A statement said that he is cancelling the shows on doctor's orders so he could have "a few extra weeks to recover completely" and that he is looking "healthy as ever".

Next up, a March 5 date in Greenville, SC.
