Toni Braxton Engaged to Rapper Birdman

by VVN Music

Singer Toni Braxton had some big news for her fans on a teaser for the upcoming sixth season of her WE TV series Braxton Family Values.

"I have an announcement to make.  I'm engaged!"

Fans and press have seen the big rock on her finger for a few weeks but she never let on whether it was an engagement ring or not until the promo for the series dropped and, even though she didn't initially say who she was going to marry, it was pretty well known it was rapper Birdman.

The two had originally worked together in 1992 on the song "Baby You Can Do It" and it isn't known when the romance bloomed but they made their first public appearance together at the 2016 BET Awards.

Today, Birdman appeared on Wendy Williams' show and, when asked about Braxton, said "T, that's my girl, my friend, my family… that's my love, my soldier, my life... She's my life. I love her to death."

Braxton, 50, first started performing with her sister during the late-80's as The Braxtons. L.A. Reid and Babyface signed her to their LaFace Records where she became one of the biggest female vocalists of the 90's with six top ten hits including the number ones "You're Making Me High" and "Un-Break My Heart". While she hasn't had a major hit since 2000, she has continued to record, including her upcoming album Sex and Cigarettes along with her WE reality show and acting parts.

Birdman (born Bryan Williams), 49, is the co-founder of Cash Money Records, home of such artists as Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj and Juvenile. He had a number 11 hit in 2002 with "Still Fly" as part of the group Big Tymers along with eight top ten rap singles as a solo artist.
