Justin Timberlake in Fight For Number 2 Spot on Album Chart

by VVN Music

After a massive opening week, Justin Timberlake is in a fight for the number 2 spot on this week's Albums chart.

The soundtrack to Black Panther has firmly knocked the singer from number 1 with sales of 52,000 but almost 156 million streamed tracks, giving it a boost to 156,000 total units. Estimates are courtesy of Hits Daily Double.

Timberlake takes the number 2 spot on the sales only chart with 51,000 sold, down 79% from last week, but when streaming is added in, he falls to number 3.  The big question is how accurate Hits' estimate is as the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman has a sales plus streaming total of 72,600 while Justin has 72,400.  Any slight variation in actual figures could put him at number 2.

Toto's Greatest Hits: 40 Trips Around the Sun sold an estimated 4,100 copies in its first week, putting it at 34 on the pure sales chart.  It doesn't make the Hits 50 when streaming is added.

Sales of Eminem's Revival was actually up 8% last week at 6,300 physical and download copies. When streaming for the album, which is down, is added, he goes up to 17,400 units, putting him around 20 for the week.

Maroon 5 is one spot behind at 21 with Red Pill Blues (17,000).

Final positions will be out on Tuesday.
