Europe Wins Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance at Sweden's Grammis Awards

Europe was one of the winners on Thursday (February 8) night at Sweden's Grammis Awards.

The group took the award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Album for Walk the Earth, their eleventh studio album which was released last October.

Europe have been around since their 1983 self-titled debut and are best known for their 1986 international hit "The Final Countdown".

Receiving a special award was Görel Hanser, who started as the secretary of Stig Anderson and moved up the ranks to become a Vice President of Polar Music, negotiating the contracts for ABBA around the world and also acting as their personal manager.

In other awards, Zara Larsson was named Artist of the Year and also won Song of the Year for "Only You" and Album of the Year for So Good. Tove Lo received Pop Record and Lyricist for "Blue Lips"
