Roger Daltrey Will Perform "Tommy" With Orchestras Across the U.S.

Artist: Roger Daltrey
Tour: Tommy 2018 Tour
Dates: June 8 to July 8, 2018

Roger Daltrey is taking The Who's Tommy on the road again but, this time, with a twist.  He'll be performing with a local symphony orchestra in ten cities across the U.S.

This is far from the first time that one of the Who's signature "rock operas" has been done with large orchestras.  Tommy was recorded in the 70's with the London Symphony Orchestra and guests. Recently, Pete Townshend has recorded an orchestral version of Quadrophenia and taken it on tour.

Daltrey said "I'm really looking forward to singing Tommy, not only with my great backing group, but also some of the finest orchestras in the country. Pete Townshend’s rock music is particularly suited to being embellished by the sounds that an orchestra can add to the band. With the arrangements written by David Campbell, it should make a memorable night of entertainment for all those who love the arts."

Joining Daltrey at all tour stops will be members of The Who band, Simon Townshend, Frank Simes, Loren Gold, Jon Button and Scott Devour.
