Eminem Gets Eighth Straight Number 1 Album in the U.K., Ties ABBA and Led Zeppelin For Record

Eminem has tied a record in the U.K. with his eighth straight number 1 album.

He now has the most consecutive number 1 albums ever in Britain, tying with ABBA and Led Zeppelin.  Zeppelin's run went from 1969's Led Zeppelin II to 1979's In Through the Out Door.  ABBA's lasted from 1976's Greatest Hits through 1982's The Singles: The First Ten Years.

Veteran artists claim half of the top twenty albums for the week with Michael Ball & Alfie Boe's Together Again dropping from 4 to 6, Roy Orbison's A Love So Beautiful holding at number 7 and Noel Gallagher's Who Built the Moon reentering the top ten, going from 11 to 10. The second half of the top twenty includes albums from George Michael (#11), Elvis Presley (#12), Elton John (#13), Michael Buble (#14), Liam Gallagher (#17) and Andre Rieu (#20).

At 32 is the premier of Linkin Park's One More Light: Live and, down at 80, the debut of No One Ever Really Dies by N.E.R.D., made up of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shay Haley.

Behind Eminem is Ed Sheeran's Divide, Sam Smith's The Thrill of It All, Pink's Beautiful Trauma and Rag'N'Bone Man's Human.

On the Singles side, Sheeran is at the top with "Perfect" followed by Eminem and Sheeran with River, WHAM's "Last Christmas", Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas is You" and Rita Ora's "Anywhere".

This week, there are 21 holiday songs on the Singles chart by veteran artists, one more than last week.
