It's been six months since we've looked at the veteran artists who have received Gold, Platinum and Diamond certifications from the RIAA because, quite frankly, it happens so rarely these days; however, with the new inclusion of streaming into the calculations, we're starting to see a few more artists honored.
Linkin Park received certifications for 21 different titles including their Hybrid Theory album going eleven-times Platinum indicating sales of over eleven-million units and Meteora which is now at the seven-times level. In addition, fifteen singles received new certification including "What I've Done" which is now five-times Platinum.
R.E.O. Speedwagon's Hi-Infidelity received its Diamond Certification for 10 million albums sold. It is the only new Diamond album by a veteran artists in the last six months.
The addition of streaming has been especially impactful on Singles with almost fifty new awards for veteran artists.
