Noel Gallagher Confirms His Cat is "More Rock N Roll" Than Radiohead

by VVN Music

Well, now that Morrissey has gone from crazy political statements to just plain nuts defense of sexual abusers and predators, we have to move to our second favorite source of off-the-wall comments, one of the Gallagher brothers.

Noel Gallagher obviously a bit of a bad reaction to the band Radiohead who are nominated this year for possible inclusion into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In the past, Gallagher has made numerous disparaging comments about Thom Yorke and company including the fact that his cat is "more Rock N Roll" than Radiohead.

Now, in a new interview with Ireland's The Independent, he has put a little perspective on both Radiohead and his cat.

Up first was Boots, his cat, who evidently spends as much time at U2 bassist Adam Clayton's house as his own:

"I live on the same street as Adam Clayton. Five doors away from him. He came to my house recently, and our cat Boots came walking in. Adam went: ‘So, that’s your cat?’ I asked him, ‘How do you know that cat?’ He said, ‘That cat is always at my f***ing house!’” Noel then asked the U2 bassist: "Do you have a cat?’ ‘No. But Boots is always at my house!’” came Adam's reply.

The paper than broached the question on whether Boots is, truly, above Radiohead. Gallagher replied "Absolutely. Boots is a f***king demon."

Gallagher evidently does have a bit of a soft spot for the band, saying:

Listen, they have done some great stuff.

My wife has a physical reaction to them, when she hears them. It’s like: ‘No – can’t do it. Once he [Thom Yorke] starts singing. Can’t do it.’ No, they’re not a party band. But I’ve got some of their tunes on my phone. But I’m never in the Radiohead moment where I’m thinking, ‘Oh, a bit of modern angst will do her!.’

Of course, the Gallagher brothers love to snipe at each other. Liam recently said that he wants Rowan Atkinson's character Mr. Bean to play Noel in his biopic.  “Mr. Bean for Noel, because he’s annoying, isn’t he? You just want to punch his fucking head in and be like, ‘Stop fucking about mate'”

Meanwhile, Noel was busy criticizing Liam's new album, saying "I’ve heard ‘Wall of Glass’ and the one that sounds like Adele shouting into a bucket. But I’m not a fan so I wouldn’t listen to it."
