by VVN Music

Thirty years ago today, October 17, 1987, Michael Jackson took the number 1 spot on the R&B Singles chart with "Bad".

The title song from the Bad album was released on September 7, 1987, just a week after the album hit the market. It was the second single from the album after "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" with Siedah Garrett.

Produced by Quincy Jones, the song also was a groundbreaking video directed by Martin Scorsese and premiered on a CBS special of Jackson's. Wesley Snipes co-starred prior to becoming a star.
