Patti Smith and Nick Cave Win Australian Live Performance Awards

Nick Cave and Patti Smith have picked up 2017 Helpmann Awards.

The Helpmann’s recognize excellence in live performance.

The Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds tour won the Best Australian Contemporary Concert award. It was promoted by Billions Australia.

Cave beat Missy Higgins from Frontier Touring, Flume by Chugg Entertainment and Deborah Conway & Willy Zygier via StudioVictor, QPAC, NFSA, Arts Centre Melbourne, Theatre Royale and Margaret River Cultural Centre.

The gobsmackingly good Patti Smith live show won against Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Adele and P.J. Harvey.

The Best Contemporary Music Festival award went to Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). It beat Laneway, Bluesfest and Womadelaide.
