Aaron Carter Arrested After Refusing DUI Test, Marijuana Possession

by VVN Music

Aaron Carter, who came to prominence in 1997 with the International hit Crush On You (#9 U.K. / #5 Germany / Did Not Chart U.S.), has been arrested and jailed after refusing a test for driving under the influence.

Carter and his girlfriend, Madison Parker, were both taken into custody after police pulled them over on Saturday night in Habersham County, Georgia.  Carter refused to take any tests for DUI which is normally an automatic license suspension in most states. He was also found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  Parker was arrested for marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

According to TMZ, bail was set Sunday morning in the amount of $4,610 for Carter and $4,360 for Parker.

Carter was actually scheduled to be in Kansas City on Saturday night for a show but had cancelled earlier in the day due to "transportation problems".

Aaron Carter had three top twenty albums in the U.S. with Aaron's Party (Come Get It) (2000 / #4), Oh Aaron (2001 / #7) and Another Earthquake (2002 / #18), but never managed to have a hit single with Aaron's Party (Come Get It) only reaching number 35 on the Hot 100. Along with Crush On You, he also hit the British top ten with Crazy Little Party Girl (1998 / #7 U.K.). He also had top tens in Australia, Germany and Sweden.
