Korn Does Van Halen One Better by Pulling In a Pre-Teen Bassist

by VVN Music

When Wolfgang Van Halen joined his father and uncle's band, it surprised the music community who didn't think someone who was 15 could handle the music. They were wrong. Wolfgang has fit in well with the group even though many fans would love to see Michael Anthony back.

Now Korn is pulling back the age bar even more by bringing Tye Trujillo, 12, in to play bass on their South American tour in place of Reginald "Fieldy" Arzivu who has been with the band since the beginning in 1993. According to a statement from the band, Arzivu could not make the dates due to "unforeseen circumstances".

Trujillo just may have the background to pull this off. He is already a member of the group The Helmets but, more importantly, he is the son of Robert Trujillo, the bass player with Metallica since 2003.

Korn went on to say "We are bummed Fieldy can't join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye. We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May."

Please listen to the sound of Tye Trujillo and The Helmets.
