Set List: Sting Opens His 57th & 9th Tour in Vancouver

by VVN Music

Last week, Sting opened his 57th & 9th Tour at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC with a 22 song set that had a large helping of tracks from the new album along with some of a primer on the Police and the rest of his solo career.

Eight of the ten tracks from the new album were covered during the evening, missing only If You Can't Love Me and Inshallah.

What was missing was a number of Sting's solo hits that had been a part of many of his previous tours sets including If You Love Somebody Set Them Free, Fields of Gold and When We Dance. In their place were a number of deeper cuts including She's Too Good For Me from Ten Summoner's Tales and I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying from Mercury Falling.

On the other hand, Sting touched on many of the greatest hits of the Police with only Next to You from Outlandos d'Amour the only track that had not been a single for the group.

Note that, so far, Sting has stuck to this set in subsequent shows.
