Reba McEntire's Album of Hymns & Original Religious Songs Is the Second Biggest Seller of the Week

by VVN Music

When Reba McEntire announced that she was finally recording her dream project, a religious album containing hymns and original songs, there was a running opinion that it just didn't sound like a commercial project.

Sing it Now: Songs of Faith and Hope certainly proved the skeptics wrong, becoming the second biggest selling album last week behind Big Sean and ahead of Lady Gaga in the wake of her Super Bowl show.

Sing It Now sold an estimated 48,000 copies according to Hits Daily Double, 17,000 behind Big Sean's I Decided  but 8,000 ahead of Gaga's Joanne.

Of course, when streaming is added in, things change a bit. On the Sales + Streaming chart, Reba falls to number 5 behind Big Sean, Gaga's Joanne, Migos' Culture and Gaga's The Fame.

Reba only picked up about 2,450 units from streaming, translating to a fairly meager 3.7 million listens. By contrast, Big Sean added 90,600 units from streaming which translates to just under 136 million songs streamed during the week.

For Reba, a number 5 start would be two short of her last album, 2015's Love Somebody.

LeAnn Rimes' Remnants also placed on the Hits Daily Double Album sales projections at 28 with 6,258 units sold and Cece WinansLet Them Fall in Love was at 33 with 5,500 units. Neither had enough in streaming to make the Sales + Streaming top 50.

Final positions will be announced on Tuesday via Billboard.
