Punky Meadows, Former Guitarist For Angel, Sets Dates in Support of His Debut Solo Album

by VVN Music

During the second half of the 70's, the band Angel produced five albums of straight forward rock.

Discovered by Gene Simmons, the band was signed to Casablanca and was known for all white stage costumes as compared to KISS' all black.

The guitarist for the band from their founding until 1981 was Punky Meadows. He was originally part of the psychedelic band the Cherry People followed by BUX. The latter band formed the basis of Angel, with which Meadows stayed until 1981.

Punky retired from the business and spent over a decade running a tanning parlor before, in 2015, announcing his return to music. The result was last year's debut solo album, Fallen Angel. For someone who had been away from the business for so long, the album did well, peaking at number 6 on Billboard's New Artists chart, 25 on Rock Albums and 133 on the Billboard 200.

Meadows said of the album "I'm very proud of this song and album. Every song kicks ass and is a winner. Danny Farrow and I have a great song writing chemistry so it's hard to to pick a favorite song because they're all good. Straight Shooter was our first single and video. This band is killer with all talented players and a killer singer."

This March and April, Meadows will be playing a number of dates around the U.S. to promote the album. Joining him will be Chandler Mogel (lead vocals), Danny Farrow (rhythm guitar, vocals), Charlie Calv (keyboards), and Bob Pantella (drums). A final decision on who will be on bass will be announced closer to the tour as the band waits for the regular member, Felix Robinson, has surgery.

Along with the standard album, there is a special autographed edition of that includes a Punky Meadows guitar pick and two bonus tracks (one featuring original Angel vocalist Frank Dimino), exclusively available on the www.mainmanrecords.com website. Otherwise, the regular fifteen song edition is available everywhere else, including iTunes, Amazon, and all other music outlets.
