Nashville to Host Another Tribute Concert...This Time For Merle Haggard

Tribute shows are getting to be big business in Nashville. The most recent, an all-star salute to Randy Travis, was a huge success.

On April 6, a host of country and rock artists will once again take to the stage of the Bridgestone Arena for "Sing Me Back Home: The Music of Merle Haggard".

The date is especially important in the life of Haggard. The singer was born on April 6, 1937 and died on April 6, 2016.

The lineup of artists may actually eclipse that of the Travis show with such veteran country and rock acts as Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Alison Krauss, Hank Williams, Jr., Kenny Chesney, John Mellencamp, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Lucinda Williams joined by modern hitmakers such as Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley.

Merle Haggard's legacy as one of the greatest of country artists can be seen in his 49 studio albums along with 71 top ten singles, 38 of which went to number 1.
