Metallica Announces Their Hardwired...To Self Destruct Tour on North America

by VVN Music

After a hard hitting but technically flawed performance of Moth Into Flame with Lady Gaga at last night's Grammy Awards, Metallica have announced a summer tour in support of the album Hardwired...To Self Destruct.

Hardwired, which was released in November, was the group's sixth straight number 1 studio album in the U.S. dating back to the classic Black Album in 1991. Three tracks from the album have already been major hits on the Mainstream Rock Chart, Hardwired (#1), Moth Into Flame (#5) and Atlas, Rise! (#1).

The tour is especially great for Metallica fans as it is their first full North American tour in eight years. Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat will be along to open most shows with Gojira joining later in the tour.

Presale tickets go on sale for Legacy Club Members tomorrow (February 14) at 9 AM local time with Met Club and Citi card members members being able to start buying two hours later. General sales begin Friday (February 17) at 10 AM local time.

Every ticket sold will receive either a CD or digital download copy of Self Destruct.

Metallica has partnered with CID Entertainment to offer four options of special enhanced experiences on this tour, including premium tickets and amenities: early access to the venue, a visit to the 'Memory Remains' exhibit of memorabilia, and meet and greets. For full package details, visit CID Entertainment.

Additionally, Metallica has announced the formation of their All Within My Hands Foundation, which will raise funds to support a cross-section of national, local and Bay Area charities that the individual band members support, along with continuing to donate to music education programs and local food banks. Through a collaboration with Crowdrise, the band encourages fans to make a donation when purchasing tickets to the upcoming shows.
