Thirty CMA Award Winners Coming Together For New Single "Forever Country"

On Friday, country radio stations across the country will debut a new single, Forever Country, that brings together thirty past winners at the CMA Awards.

The CMA's are celebrating their 50th anniversary so producer Shane McAnally, himself a CMA winner, assembled a long list of country's greatest, past and future, to record the record which is a medley of the songs Take Me Home Country Roads, On the Road Again and I Will Always Love You.

Five more artists are yet to be announced.

The single will be released to radio this Friday while a video for the song, directed by Joseph Kahn, will be out next Tuesday. Although not announced, the next logical step would be a performance of the record on the CMA show on November 1. 

Sarah Trahern, Chief Executive Officer of the CMA, said "Forever Country is a moving tribute to country music, country music fans, and the artists who have built this format into what it is today. This music video is the product of the CMA Board of Directors who came together in support of this project as a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the CMA Awards, a statement on the heritage and future of the country music industry, and a reflection of this year’s Awards theme — 'Then. Now. Forever Country.'"
