Queen Latifah, Dave Grohl, "Bessie", "Sonic Highways" Nominated For Emmys

A number of music-based programs have been nominated for the 67th Annual Emmy Awards.

Bessie, the HBO movie on the life of blues great Bessie Smith, was nominated for six awards including Television Movie, Lead Actress (Queen Latifah), Supporting Actor (Michael Kenneth Williams), Supporting Actress (Mo’Nique), Writing and Direction.

Dave Grohl has two nominations for his Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, Best Information Series or Special and Outstanding Direction for Grohl.

The film Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck is up for Documentary or Non-Fiction Special and Writing while Sinatra: All or Nothing or All competes with it in the Documentary category.

The Grammy Awards were recognized with three nominations for Production Design, Lighting Design and Sound Mixing while the Academy's Stevie Wonder: Songs In The Key Of Life – An All-Star GRAMMY Salute received on nod for Music Direction.

The Emmys will be presented on September 20.
