Chance of the Foo Fighters Headlining Glastonbury Go Up as Mick Fleetwood Says No

by and VVN Music

The odds of Foo Fighters headlining Glastonbury have been slashed making them the bookmaker's odds-on favorites.

Foo Fighters have been backed over the last 24 hours from outsiders at 14/1 to 8/11 favourites after a surge of bets for the band to headline the Pyramid Stage on the Festival Sunday.

The money has come following Dave Grohl's admission that he would love to play at the Festival, and after Fleetwood Mac suggested in a BBC Radio 2 interview with Chris Evans that they are unlikely to play at Glastonbury. Mick Fleetwood told Evans "One of the things that I'd like to clear up is that we're not playing Glastonbury. A lot of folks think that we are, so loud and clear: We love Glastonbury and all the surrounding history of such a lovely festival but we're not playing it. No bad faith for Glastonbury because I just don't want people thinking it's us."

Fleetwood Mac have been pushed out to odds of 6/4 (from 8/11 favourites).

"There's a real gamble on for Foo Fighters to play at Glastonbury, but at this stage it looks like a combination of hopeful fans and those following the rumour-mill. Perhaps given the weight of money we've seen, there may be some truth in the rumours," said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Foo Fighters are already lined-up to play at a number of Festivals in Europe next summer and would be a popular choice among Glasto-goers.
