39 people in Australia actually paid to download the U2 album Songs Of Innocence last week.

Innocence was the album at the center of controversy last month after U2 and Apple spammed 500 million iTunes users with the album whether they wanted it or not. The album was free for one month to anyone worldwide and then went on general sale last week.

As expected nearly all of the sales were for the physical CD but 39 people bought the download.

Songs of Innocence sold 2,860 copies in Australia including the 39 downloads and debuted at number 7 on the ARIA album chart.
