Did Paul Stanley Finally Go Too Far With His Twitter Rant Against the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Paul Stanley has been the most outspoken about the treatment of KISS by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He made numerous comments before the ceremony and was the only member of the band to directly address at length the Hall and their treatment of the band:
"Here we are, basically inducted for the same things that we were kept out for. The people are speaking to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and what they’re saying is that they want more. They don’t want to be spoon-fed with a handful of choices. The people buy tickets, the people buy albums, the people who nominate do not. Let’s not forget that these are the people who make it all possible. We just benefit from it. I am here tonight because of the people who inspired me, but I am also here because of the people I inspired. So god bless you all. It’s a wonderful night."
That easily could have been the end of it. The band was in, the fans were ecstatic and Paul had been able to express his opinion.

Unfortunately, his distaste for the Hall of Fame once again came out in a couple of Tweets that he posted on Saturday. The first addressed Rolling Stone magazine of which Hall chairman Jann Wenner is publisher.
Stanley followed up a short time later with another indictment, this time directed directly at Wenner.
The two posts were up long enough for a number of fans to tweet back their agreement but, as of Sunday night, both are gone.

The question is, did Paul Stanley finally realize that he had gone over the line? Did someone clue him in that calling Jann Wenner a "spineless weasel" and a "small man" in the public venue that is Twitter might not be a great idea? There is having you opinion on something but taking it to the arena of petty insults seriously diminishes what it is that you are trying to say.  Let's hope that all parties involved can either drop the discussion or return it to a civilized discourse.
