by Paul Cashmere

The Rolling Stones first Australian concert in Perth tomorrow (Wednesday) has been cancelled following news of the death of Mick Jagger’s girlfriend L’Wren Scott.

Perth presenting station 96FM reported the cancellation of tomorrow’s concert on the 8:30 AM news bulletin.

Scott was found hanged in her Manhattan apartment at around 10 AM Monday (New York time).

L’Wren Scott was the fashion designer to the stars. Her clients included Madonna and Nicole Kidman.

The Rolling Stones arrived in Perth on Monday for the Australian leg of the 14 On Fire tour to mark their 50th anniversary.

Mick Jagger is believed to be on his way to New York. The Stones are reported to have left the Hyatt Perth.

Details about the remaining Australian dates are yet to be announced.

I was quite disappointed to not see the Rolling Stones concert here in Perth, but I feel even sadder for Mick Jagger. I have been following the news of him (can you tell that I am a big fan of Mick?) and L’Wren Scott and I know how much he adores her. I know fans must be devastated as well. I am sure that they will soon have another tour here in Australia, and hopefully Perth would be one of the stops again.

As a huge fan of the Rolling Stones, I truly empathized with Mick Jagger’s loss and I sincerely send my condolences to him, the whole band and to the family members involved. There was definitely an uproar amongst the fans in Perth conveying their disappointment over the abrupt cancellation. However, I personally think that they should have been more sensitive as Scott’s demise was obviously unintended and unknown. We sometimes have to put other people first instead of our own priorities.
