Jukebox Musical of Dan Fogelberg Songs Gets Funded on Kickstarter

The music of Dan Fogelberg will be the basis of the new jukebox musical Part of the Plan.

While still a long way from Broadway, the creation of a staged reading and a full workshop production of the show has been funded through a Kickstarter campaign.  With still eight hours to go, the project has exceeded its $50,000 goal by over $6,000 from 678 backers.

The new show was written by Kate Atkinson and Karen Harris who incorporated Fogelberg's music into the "tale of an adopted boy and the teenaged girl of privilege who is forced to give him up. "Part of the Plan" takes us through the boom times of post-World War II America, the social and sexual revolution of the 1960’s, and the political upheaval of the 1970’s."

Victor Vanacore, who has worked with Elton John, Willie Nelson and Ray Charles, is arranging Fogelberg's music for the production. Dan's widow, Jean Fogelberg, has also been part of the development from the beginning.

Premiums for the supporters include downloads from the cast album, mugs and t-shirts, and copies of special artwork designed by Jean Fogelberg up to a Producers credit.
