Universal Starts Crowd-Funding Site For Vinyl Reissues

Universal Music is jumping on the crowd-funding bandwagon with a new site that allows people to fund and receive titles of their choice from the companies catalog.

The Vinyl Project is only a sign-up page right now, but they promise to be live soon:
We're currently developing a crowd-funded vinyl service that makes use of Universal Music's extensive catalog to offer sought-after deleted records to be re-pressed in this great format. Funders will become owners of limited edition rare records, which also will include digital downloads & personalized art prints.
Among the titles under consideration are Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, the Jackson 5's ABC, Bjork's Biophilia, Sonic Youth's Goo, Cream's Disraeli Gears, Nirvana's MTV Unplugged and Def Leppard's Hysteria.
