For a decade, Mac Davis was one of the most high profile artists in country and pop music, writing such hits as In the Ghetto and Memories for Elvis Presley, Something's Burning for the Kenny Rogers and the First Edition and Watching Scotty Grow for Bobby Goldsboro, as a solo hitmaker with Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me and One Hell of a Woman, as a television variety show host and as an actor.

Davis' music career is covered on the new compilation A Little More Action Please: The Anthology 1970-1985 coming on May 20 from Australia's Raven Records. The set includes every Billboard Top 20 Country and Pop hit from his time with Columbia, Casablanca and MCA along with his version of the songs made famous by others.
