Set List: Michael Nesmith Opens First Solo Tour in 21 Years

It has been 21 years since Michael Nesmith has done a full solo tour of the U.S.  He has done dates here and there and participated in last year's Monkees tour, but this is a rare trek from a man whose brilliance is often overshadowed by his 60's TV legacy.
Nesmith opened the tour on Thursday night at the Franklin Theater in Nashville, TN with a 15-song show covered all facets of Nesmith's career from the opening Papa Gene's Blues from the Monkees (and the only song from his time in that group) to his last solo album, 2006's Rays. In-between were five songs from the superb trio of albums that started his solo career (Magnetic South, Loose Salute, Nevada Fighter), the songs that put him at the forefront of the burgeoning video revolution (Rio, Cruisin') and much from his other solo works.
