Whitney Houston, Madonna and George Harrison Receive Platinum and Gold

The RIAA has released their gold and platinum certifications for the month of June and among the recipients are Whitney Houston, Madonna and George Harrison.

Houston actually received two platinum awards, both for the album Whitney: The Greatest Hits. Each indicates the passing of another milestone, in this case the sales of four-million and five-million copies of the LP.

Madonna received a gold single for the song Give Me All Your Luvin', indicating sales of 500,000 downloads or more.

George Harrison's award was in the video realm, receiving a gold award for longform video for the documentary Living in the Material World. For video, gold indicates sales of 50,000 or more units.
