Bobby Brown Dedicates New Album to His Late-Mother; Announces New Edition Reunion

Bobby Brown is getting ready to release his first album in thirteen years, The Masterpiece, and is dedicating it to his mother.

He said: "My mom passed away a couple of weeks ago so I now have an angel looking out for me.

"I think it's the best work I've done in the last 13 years, that's what I've been planning and that's why I called it The Masterpiece, because I've been working on this album for approximately 13 years.

"It's just a special album for me because my mum loved it so much. She wanted me to put it out earlier so just having it out now is just great."

Speaking about the album on ABC's What's the Buzz?, Bobby, who was once married to Whitney Houston, revealed he was pleased he got the opportunity to sing about his favorite subject, love.

The singer, who is currently working with Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill in the group Heads of State, said "I would say it's typical Bobby Brown. It's a little funky and there's a lot of love songs because that's what I love to sing about - love."

Note: VVN Music is updating this story with news revealed earlier today.

Brown also told the ladies of The View on Wednesday morning that New Edition will once again be reuniting.  "We will be doing an album some time in the near future and a big tour."

The group reunited in 1996 and 2004 for albums and have done a few charity shows in the intervening years.
