B-52's Fred Schneider Releasing Christmas Album With His Group The Superions

The B-52's Fred Schneider started a side project four years ago called the Superions.  The group, formed in Orlando, consists of Schneider on vocals, Noah Brodie on keyboards and electric drums and Dan Marshall doing programming.  As their website says, they're "The most exciting group to hit the music scene since Elvis or Lady Gaga (or Justin Bieber for that matter), what started out as just a fun get-together has turned into a long-time creative endeavor."

The Superions will release a new holiday album on October 26 via Fanatic Records called Destination...Christmas and, let's just say, it's a little different.  How could it not be with songs like Fruitcake, Santa's Disco and Crummy Christmas Tree?

When asked about where the inspiration came from for the project, Schneider said "It’s hard to say who our musical influences for this project were, because we don’t want to get sued."
