Springsteen & E-Street Band Play First Show in Three Years

Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band took the stage for their first concert in over three years last night at Asbury Park's Convention Hall. It was the first of three planned rehearsal shows for the fall tour that opens October 2.

The set contained a number of old favorites along with seven songs from the LP Magic, which is also due on October 2. Springsteen told the crowd they were playing "a few new ones, a few old ones, maybe a few mistakes, but I doubt it."

Also included were a few rarities, including the Seeger Sessions song American Land, being played for the first time by the E-Street Band, Thundercrack and Something in the Night.

The set list:
  • Radio Nowhere
  • No Surrender
  • Gypsy Biker
  • Empty Sky
  • Something in the Night
  • Girls in Their Summer Clothes
  • Night
  • The Promised Land
  • Livin' in the Future

  • Lonesome Day
  • My Hometown
  • The Rising
  • Last To Die
  • Long Walk Home

The band plays Asbury Park again tonight and the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford on Friday.
