...and Another Classic TV Variety Show Hits DVD

Less than a week after the announcement of their Glen Campbell show DVD, Time-Life is back with news of the November 6th release of The Best of the Andy Williams Show.

Williams show was on NBC from 1962 to 1971 and included many of the stars of the day along with regulars like the young Osmond Brothers who, unfortunately, are not on this DVD. Instead, numbers are featured with Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Cass Elliot, the Smothers Brothers, Roy Rogers & Dale Evans and Burt Bacharach. Of course, there are a couple of solo tunes by Williams, including his classic Moon River.

Also on the DVD is an exclusive interview with Williams from March of this year.

Be aware that this is a different DVD from the one released of the same name by Image Entertainment in 2000.

Music Highlights:
  • Moon River, Strangers in the Night - Andy Williams
  • Moonlight Sonata/What'd I Say/Spinning Song - Andy Williams, Ray Charles, the Raelets
  • Lover Man - Ella Fitzgerald
  • Words/Words of Love/You've Got Your Troubles - Andy Williams & Mama Cass
  • Michael - Smothers Brothers
  • County Fair/Texas Plains - Andy Williams, Roy Rogers & Dale Evans
  • Alfie/Walk on By/(There's) Always Something There To Remind Me/The Look of Love/I Say a Little Prayer/What the World Needs Now is Love - Andy Williams, Burt Bacharach & the Raelets
