  • 2008 - Paul McCartney received an honorary doctorate in music from Yale University. 
  • 2009 - A judge ruled that half of the assets of James Brown would go to a chartable trust, a quarter to his last wife and son and a quarter to his six children. The ruling ended a three-year battle.
