Tool Implies They Are Back in the Studio

by VVN Music

Rockers Tool have confirmed that they are in the studio recording a brand new album.

The band released their first set, Undertow, in 1993 and have only put out a total of four studio albums over the years. This will be their first since returning from a hiatus that started in 2008.

The prospects of a new set have been around since 2015 when the band settled a long fought lawsuit with an insurance company. Member Adam Jones originally said to expect the album by the end of 2015 but that they wouldn't release it if they didn't feel it was right.  Touring kept them out of the studio for much of 2016 and, although last year brought word of Maynard James Keenan recording vocals, no album was forthcoming.

Now, it seems that the band is back in the studio as seen on a social media posting from Jones:

So, various reports have the album "90% done" with all but one track complete for which Keenan had yet to write lyrics. The release date is up in the air as Keenan has said not expect anything this summer.
