Soft Cell Reunite For 40th Anniversary Show & to Say Good Bye

by VVN Music

Soft Cell, the duo of Marc Almond and Dave Ball, are reuniting for a single show which will also be their swan song.

Titled "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye", the show is set for London's O2 Arena on September 30.  Tickets go on sale on February 26.

Almond appeared on Chris Evan's BBC Radio 2 morning show to make the announcement. "With Soft Cell I always felt something was unfinished. This last ever final show will be the best ever ending. It will be a real statement and send off, and thank you to every fan.

"Neither of us want to do a tour, but we do want to say goodbye to the fans."

Almond also said that there will be a box set later this year which will include a couple of new tracks.

While mainly known for their hit "Tainted Love / Where Did Our Love Go" (1981 / #8 U.S. / #1 U.K.), they had five additional hits in the U.K. with "Bedsitter" (1981 / #4 U.K.), "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" (1982 / #3 U.K.), "Torch" (1982 / #2 U.K.), "What!" (1982 / #3 U.K.) and "Tainted Love '91" (1991 / #5).

Since the duo broke up, Almond has gone on to a very successful solo career while Ball is a producer and remixer.
