Reunited Mott the Hoople Headlining British Festival

by VVN Music

Mott the Hoople will reunite for the Ramblin' Man Fair in Kent, England.

The festival, which is set for June 30 and July 1, will also have The Cult headlining along with appearances by Halestorm, Gov't Mule, Steve Earle and the Dukes, Blackberry Smoke, Fish, Steel Panther, The Cadillac Three and others.

Joining in the reunion will be original member Ian Hunter plus guitarist Ariel Bender (1973-1974) and Morgan Fisher (1973-1980). Bender and Fisher both appeared on the albums All the Young Dudes (1972) as guests and The Hoople (1974) as full members. Fisher also appeared on Mott (1973).

Not participating from the "classic lineup" are Mick Ralphs and Verden Allen. Ralphs has approved of the reunion although he can't join because of health problems. Both Pete Overend Watts and Dale Griffin passed away in recent years.

Filling out the band will be James Mastro, Mark Bosch, Dennis Dibrizzi, Paul Page and Steve Holley.

Hunter said of the reunion "Looking forward to realigning with my old Mott The Hoople mates: the great Ariel Bender and the sartorial Morgan Fisher at Ramblin' Man Fair in June. Both toured extensively with Mott and both were featured heavily of The Hoople album after Mick Ralphs and Verden Allen left the band. I know many people were disappointed when neither appeared on the 2009 and 2013 get-togethers – hope this makes up for it!"
