Best of 2017: The Best Albums of the Year By Veteran Artists

After a month-and-a-half of sorting through 112 different year-end lists from music sites around the world, we have our final list of the Best of 2017.

As we've pointed out in previous articles, this was a very strange year in that there were no albums dominating the lists.  In the first three years that we have done our year-end compilation of surveys, there has always been between one and four albums that dominated the various charts. Beck's Morning Phase made 19 out of 20 lists and David Bowie's Blackstar appeared on 55 out of 60.

This year's top album, the self-titled album by Slowdive, only appeared on 47 of 112 surveys and second place 4:44 by Jay-Z on 45 of 112.

A total of 173 albums made the lists. Here are the top 50:
