Tom Petty's "Greatest Hits" Will Stay in Top 3 This Week; Marilyn Manson in Top 10

by VVN Music

The weekly projections are out from Hits Daily Double and it looks like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' Greatest Hits album will remain in the top three.

2 last week, it stays at that spot on the Hits list with sales of 26,800 (number 4 in pure sales) and a big jump to 46,800 when streaming is added, indicating 30,000,000 streams during the week.

Perception by NF will take the top spot with sales plus streaming of 53,200 but where Petty ends up on Tuesday when the final numbers are announced could vary.  His 46,800 is close to Lil Pump's 45,200 and, as Hits is just a projection, those positions may flip-flop.

Marilyn Manson actually had the second biggest selling album of the week, selling just short of 29,000 copies of Heaven Upside Down; however, his sales plus streaming number was just 31,500 (about 3,375,000 streams), so he drops to 9 on the combined chart.

Liam Gallagher's As You Were, a huge hit in England, opens at number 7 on the pure sales chart with 14,800 copies sold. Add in streaming and that total just goes to 15,300, dropping him to number 23 on sales plus streaming.

A sampling of other veteran artists:
  • Now - Shania Twain (Sales - #8 (13,000) / Sales Plus Streaming - #28 (14,100))
  • You Make It Feel Like Christmas - Gwen Stefani (Sales - #11 (9,200) / Sales Plus Streaming - #45 (9,700))
  • For Sale: Live at Maxwell's 1986 - The Replacements (Sales - #18 (6,900) / Sales Plus Streaming - Not in top 50))
  • Wildflowers - Tom Petty (Sales - #30 (3,500) / Sales Plus Streaming - #35 - 11,400))
Final numbers will be out Tuesday.
