Billy Ocean Combos New Material With Hits on Upcoming Release; Touring With Replay America Tour

by VVN Music

Billy Ocean will release a new album on July 21 which combines ten new recordings with six of his classic hits.

Ocean originally released Here You Are: The Music of My Life in 2016 in the U.K. where it became a hit, peaking at number 4 and spending three weeks in the top ten albums. That two-CD set contained 31 tracks where the U.S. edition is pared to a single 15-track CD.

The new tracks are built around the songs that informed, influenced and inspired Billy's own music featuring his new composition, Here You Are, and the album's first UK single, A Simple Game as well as Ocean's powerfully heartfelt interpretations of standards and classics including Sam Cooke's A Change Is Gonna Come, No Woman No Cry, Cry Me A River, Having a Party, It Was a Very Good Year, These Foolish Things, Judge Not and Love Train.

The album concludes with five of his seven U.S. top ten hits Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run) (1984 / #1), Suddenly (1985 / #4), When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going (1986 / #2), There'll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry) (1986 / #1) and Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car (1988 / #1).  Missing from the set are Loverboy (1985 / #2) and Love Zone (1986 / #10).
