by VVN Music

Neil Young is ill and has pulled out of Friday's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

Young was scheduled to induct Pearl Jam, a band which he has worked a number of times over the years. Neil and Pearl Jam collaborated on Young's song Rockin' in the Free World at the 1993 MTV Video Music Awards and members of the group played on Young's Mirror Ball (1995).

The Rock Hall announced on Wednesday that former talk show host David Letterman will take Young's place.

That makes the new inductors list:
  • David Letterman will induct Pearl Jam
  • Jackson Browne will induct Joan Baez
  • Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will induct Yes
  • Dhani Harrison will induct the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)
  • Pat Monahan of Train will induct Journey
  • Pharrell Williams will induct Nile Rodgers
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held this Friday night at the Barclay's Center in New York.  The show will air on HBO starting April 29 at 8 PM.
