Michael Dorf's Next "The Music Of..." Benefit Salutes Jimmy Webb

Michael Dorf, the owner of City Winery, has been putting on regular The Music of... show at Carnegie Hall to benefit various organizations since 2006 and, occasionally, puts on two, three or even four in one year.

Dorf is mounting his second show of 2017 on May 3, this time to salute The Music of Jimmy Webb with 100% of the proceeds going to the Alzheimer's Foundation. His first show of 2017 was on Monday, March 5 with The Music of Aretha Franklin to benefit a number of music education organizations.

So far, ten artists have been announced for the Jimmy Webb salute, nine of which are veterans along with Glenn Campbell's daughter Ashley Campbell:

  • Dwight Yoakam
  • Johnny Rivers

More artists are to be added at a later date. 

Jimmy Webb is publishing his memoir, The Cake and the Rain, on April 18 via St. Martin's Press. He is also the vice chairman of ASCAP.
