Blink-182 to Release New Edition of "California" That's a "Whole Other Record", Sets Release Date

Blink-182 fans are about to get a new version of the band's latest album, California, and, according to Mark Hoppus, it's a "whole other record".

In a December interview with Billboard, Hoppus went on at length about what the expanded edition would include:

...it’s more than a whole other record, it’s a double album at this point and it’s more of an extension of what we did in the studio earlier. Some of the songs were songs that we did not put on the first album, but are great songs. And some are brand new that we just wrote last week, a lot of high-energy songs, punk rock, some more ballad-y songs, a little more electronic experimentation, it’s a good mix. It’s not a collection of throwaway songs, it’s like a whole other album.

On Tuesday, Hoppus also confirmed a date for the new edition, something he didn't reveal in December. A fan on Twitter asked when the extended version was coming out and Hoppus simply said "May 19" without any further details.

California was Blink-182's seventh studio album since 1995 and their second number 1 along with Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001).
