Tool Tops the Lineup for the 2017 Governors Ball; Wu-Tang Clan, Air Also on Bill

by VVN Music

The 2017 Governors Ball Music Festival on New York's Randall's Island has announced their lineup and it has some fairly impressive names.

Included are such big modern names as Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino, Wiz Khalifa, Mark Ronson, Rae Sremmurd and Lorde but first on the list, above all of those hitmakers, is Tool.

The three day festival, set for June 2, 3 and 4, has not committed to "headliners"; however, being the first name on the festival poster would lead one to believe that Tool is seen as the big name for the year.

Tool Formed in 1990 and released their first album, Undertow, in 1993. Since then, they have only put out three more studio sets, ├ćnima (1996), Lateralus (2001) and 10,000 Days (2006). That's why some industry publications, such as Billboard, are questioning the headliner status of the band.

Other veteran artists on the ticket are Wu-Tang Clan and French duo Air.

Tickets for the festival go on sale on Friday (January 6) at 12 PM EST.
