It is with a very sad heart that I have to inform you that Mark Fisher passed away peacefully this morning with his family around him, he will be greatly missed. He so loved travelling the world and playing to the Matt Bianco fans.

Early in his career, Fisher played for the group Second Image and was the keyboardist for Wham!.

Fisher joined Matt Bianco in time for their second album, Matt Bianco (1986 / #26) and stayed with the band for 20 years. He became the group's main songwriter and producer and changed the sound of the band to something more contemporary.

Fisher came back in 2009 for HiFi Bossanova, his first album with Matt Bianco in seven years.

In the United States, Matt Bianco is best known for their 1988 double sided dance hit Don't Blame It On the Girl / Wap-Bam-Boogie which peaked at 10 on the Dance charts. They charted again in 1997, going to number 23 with Sunshine Day.
