Tina Hutchence, the sister of Michael Hutchence, says 2017 will be the year of her brother.

Michael’s final music works will be released on Ron Creevey’s Helipad Records throughout 2017 to mark the 20th anniversary of Michael’s passing. Tina has head some of what is coming and says “It is not INXS at all. It’s the music that he really wanted. It is hip, it very relevant for now. It is amazing”.

Tina Hutchence was a guest of the 7 Network’s Weekend Sunrise this weekend.

Michael was working on what would be his last recordings in Los Angeles with Danny Saber (Ozzy Osbourne, Mick Jagger) just days before he died. “Danny Saber is a master. I’m very excited about that,” Tina told Weekend Sunrise. “2017 is going to be the year of Michael”.

Tina now lives in the USA but returned to Australia this week to accept the award for her brother’s induction into the Australian Songwriters Association Hall of Fame. “So happy & proud to have had the chance to accept the Australian Songwriters Hall of Fame Award for Michael,” she posted after on Facebook.

As part of the anniversary year Creevey and Saber will release the official documentary of Michael finally detailing the last years of his life. Tina will also have her book about the Michael she knew and grew up with. “The Michael that I knew was a very loving family man. He was nothing like the man on that stage,” she said. “When you walk up the stage it is very dark and they put a light up there and each step got closer to the character that he would be on stage”.

As a special treat Ron Creevey and Danny Saber will be giving fans a sneak preview of the first song Temptation in locations in Sydney and Los Angeles in January.

More details will be revealed in the new year.
