Bon Jovi to Get Sixth Number One Album With "This House is Not For Sales"

by VVN Music

The sales week doesn't end for two more days, but there is little doubt that Bon Jovi is about to have their sixth number 1 album with This House is Not For Sale.

The band had a run of five top two albums and three straight number 1's until last year when their "contractual obligation album" Burning Bridges only made it to 13. While it may not be considered an "official" Bon Jovi release, it was an album of original music that largely failed whether it was considered a throw away by fans or the Mercury label didn't put any promotion behind it.

Not counting Burning Bridges, this is the band's fourth straight number 1, an amazing feat for a band in the 32nd year of their career.

Bon Jovi's studio albums by peak position:
  • Slippery When Wet (1986 / #1)
  • New Jersey (1988 / #1)
  • Lost Highway (2007 / #1)
  • The Circle (2009 / #1)
  • What About Now (2013 / #1)
  • This House is Not For Sale (2016 / Projected #1)
  • Bounce (2002 / #2)
  • Have a Nice Day (2005 / #2)
  • Keep the Faith (1992 / #5)
  • These Days (1995 / #9)
  • Crush (2000 / #9)
  • Burning Bridges (2015 / #13)
  • 7800 Degrees Farenheit (1985 / #37)
  • Bon Jovi (1984 / #43)
Hits Daily Double has projected sales on the album at 111,000 to 116,000 and sales plus streaming at 2,000 more on each end.

Early projections also have Kenny Chesney, in his second week out with Cosmic Hallelujah, selling 22,000 to 25,000 and having sales plus streaming of 26,000 to 29,000 with the possibility of a second week in the top ten.

Common is also looking at a possible top twenty start with Black America Again.

Final charts will be out next Tuesday.
